Primal Dread launches Monday — time, price and a five-minute prep list
Published 2026-10-31 · updated 2026-11-01 · for Primal Dread (pre-release)

Brotato's second DLC, Primal Dread, unlocks on PC on Monday, 2 November 2026. It costs $3.99 / €3.99 / £3.39 on Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG. Consoles and mobile wait until early 2027.
When it goes live
The developers posted the time on Steam: 10:00 PST on 2 November, 18:00 UTC. That's 13:00 in New York, 19:00 in Berlin and 21:00 in Istanbul. In Seoul (03:00) and Sydney (05:00) it's already 3 November. Our Primal Dread hub counts down to it.
What you're getting
- A prehistoric jungle map with its own enemies, elites and bosses
- The Veteran, a character who gets stronger at low health, plus more characters still under wraps
- New weapons, items and pets
- The Evolution stat, which you push towards Mecha (stronger weapons, extra stats) or Mutation (copied items with multiplied effects)
The enemies evolve with you. Mecha dinosaurs shoot lasers and leave oil on the floor. Mutant ones spread acid.
Five minutes of prep before launch
- Let Steam update the base game early. A balance pass usually ships with a DLC, and a half-downloaded patch is a bad way to start launch night.
- Note your favourite numbers. If you main a character, screenshot their stat line. Patch days move things, and it helps to know what changed. Our pages show the game version they were checked against.
- Decide which path you want to try first. Item-heavy characters like Lucky and Curious look made for Mutation. Weapon scalers like Brawler and Ranger point at Mecha.
- Know the off switch. The DLC can be turned off in Options → Gameplay if you want a plain run between jungle attempts.
- Bookmark the hub. We add every new character, weapon and item as it's documented, flagged preliminary until we've checked the numbers in game.
See you in the jungle.
